  • School hours are from 8:10 A.M - 3:20 P.M.
  • On early release Wednesdays, students will be dismissed at: 1:20 P.M.

Reporting an Absence:

To report an absence, please call (602) 381-6100. Only parents or legal guardians may excuse absences. In order for an absence to be excused, the parent or guardian must call the school office within 48 hours of the absence.

Types of Absences

Excused Absence: An absence is legitimate under the following conditions:

  • Personal illness
  • Doctor or dentist appointment (which cannot be made before or after school)
  • Serious family illness
  • Death in family or of a close friend
  • Religious holiday
  • School related absence: If a student misses a class due to a pre-approved school-related activity, it will not count as an absence.

Attendance and Homework Policy

Homework and Makeup Work

It is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to contact teachers for homework. Students are allowed the number of days missed in order to make up assignments, tests, or other work. If extenuating circumstances exist (i.e., an extreme emergency or extended illness), students may be given an extension; however, parents must notify the school.

Homework Requests

If your student is going to be out for more than three days, you may contact the teacher(s) directly with homework requests.

Homework requested from teachers in this manner may be picked up in the front office at a time you have arranged with the teachers.

A student whose absences (excused/unexcused) totals more than 10 percent (or 18 days) of the school year and whose absences have affected academic progress may be retained due to the negative effect on the grade and may be cited and report to the courts (according to Arizona Revised Statute 15-802 and A.R.S. 15-803).
